How was Souper Sunday 2012 in your part of the world? If you have a story to tell, we'd love to hear from you. To send your message, click on the “Contact” tab on the left.
GLADSMUIR & LONGNIDDRY: Our elders and other volunteers did really well, and the congregation gained a lot from all their hard work and imagination. As ever, our catering team fed masses of hungry soup-seekers with delicious steaming bowlfuls. A great success all round! LINTON, MOREBATTLE, HOWNAM & YETHOLM: Led by the elders and one of our youth...we had a thoroughly successful act of worship. The local hall had been chosen so that soup and sandwiches could follow on where people were already sitting. The lively table fellowship and the shared lunch provided a memorable experience for us all and gained very positive responses. Such shared meals greatly enhance congregational fellowship and in a way that points us towards a reflection in Christ of others in need. (Photos in "2012 slideshow!")
ST JOHN'S ONTHANK, KILMARNOCK: We believe in promoting positivism and hope. We have just celebrated Souper Sunday and have raised double what we raised last year.
AUCHTERGAVEN AND MONEYDIE: Our Souper Sunday went very well indeed. Those who took part did exceptionally well, and we had a lovely time of fellowship afterwards with the soup and bread - and the cakes the children had decorated at Sunday Club.
CARRICK KNOWE, EDINBURGH: This was our 3rd Souper Sunday event (although last year we had a "Sundae Sunday" with ice-cream in June!) Last week's event (with soup) was again very successful; many people commented on the thought-provoking service, and all enjoyed the fellowship over soup and bread. (Photos in "2012 slideshow!")
