Food rules – OK?

It is important to keep firmly in mind the regulations that govern the preparing and serving of food in public places by responsible volunteers. If in doubt, contact your local authority for guidance. Another good source of up-to-date information is The Food Standards Agency at www.food.gov.uk. If your congregational premises do not allow for food to be served, why not encourage members to invite folk back to their homes to have a friendly and informal get-together over a bowl of soup? Again, the agencies mentioned above can guide you on best practice. Alternatively, you might serve something even more simple, like coffee and shortbread, taking an offering as folk leave the hall after church. Above all, enjoy Souper Souper, and keep it safe for all your guests. The Church of Scotland HIV Programme (Scottish Charity No SC011353)
